We are born in the middle of things and between worlds, past and present, peace and war, Heaven and Hell. We are one along an unbroken, if tangled line of ancestry, tracing back soul after soul to a pivotal point in time, a singularity, an amalgamation of Heavenly Breath and Earthly Dust. And so we have been ever since, souls indwelling physical bodies, boundless spirit bound in limited matter, recreating this emergent paradigm, generation after generation.

Our own beginning is typically of little note or excitement, except to a select few, who view our coming with anticipation and perhaps a little trepidation. Whereas they see our arrival clearly set against the backdrop of their times and events, our own limited awareness is focused solely on a vital proximity to the warm nurturing source that inexplicably expelled us into an alien and in many respects hostile environment. Where once we were the center of a bountiful and sheltering universe surrounding us to support, protect, and connect, now we find ourselves at the periphery, exposed, exerting effort to reclaim a semblance of those vital life-sustaining parameters. This is, in effect, the expulsion each of us reenact as we enter into this world, mirroring that far removed time in which Adam & Eve were driven from that first sheltering womb we know as Eden…
